DYNAMIC CONTENT DEFINITION

Dynamic Content is web site content that is generated "on-the-fly" and this is generally accomplished by integrating a database into a web site and delivering page content based on user preferences, whether a user has been authenticated (is logged in), or a number of other criteria.

In the past, web pages that delivered dynamic content did not traditionally perform as well in search engines as "flat" HTML (and similar technology) pages, due in part to QueryStrings and other aspects of the URL and site code making indexing difficult for SearchEngineRobots. Search engines are now better to index dynamic content but this aspect of site architecture must be taken into consideration in any SearchEngineOptimization efforts.
