LINK POPULARITY DEFINITION
The measure (generally by SearchEngineAlgorithms) of the quality and quantity of links to a given web site (or page).
While it is uncertain what the exact weight of link popularity is in determining a site's relevance for search terms, the idea is that if a popular, high quality site has linked to your site, then the search engines consider that a "vote" for your site. Search Engines use link popularity in their algorithms to some degree when measuring your site's relevance for search queries.
