ORGANIC SEARCH RESULTS

Also known as "natural" or "algorithmic" search results, organic search results are those results for a given search engine query that show up on SearchEngineResultsPages as a result of the searcher querying the search engine for results that have been indexed by the engine's algorithm (see SearchEngineAlgorithm). These results are listed in the order that the search engine believes they are relevant to the search, with first results being most relevant.

In contrast, paid listings (see SponsoredLinks) are results that have been listed in the SERP because advertisers have paid for such listings (and the ordering of paid listings is also generally determined by bidding, with the highest price ads closer to the top of the page).
