Slashdot was originally created in September of 1997 by Rob "CmdrTaco" Malda, with the help of Jeff "Hemos" Bates and others. It is now owned by SourceForge, Inc., but it is still run by many of the same people as it was 'Back in the Day'. Slashdot has always had the same mission, to provide 'News for Nerds. Stuff that Matters'.
